"Meditation cannot be purchased, love cannot be purchased, friendship cannot be purchased, gratitude cannot be purchased—but nobody is concerned with these things.  Everything else, the whole world of things, can be purchased."

food offering tradition during spiritual counseling
Food Offering is an Indian tradition that has kept the spiritual tradition alive through millennia, for without it, our tradition would have died within a few days after the masters went out to teach.  The offering is a symbolic representation of “In return for your loving wish for my emotional, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing,  I wish for your physical and energetic wellbeing atleast”.   So the actual offering every meeting can be anything that is based on your wishes and your financial situation.
The following are some easy examples in the everyday American context ( in the decreasing order of financial ability), 1. For the gainfully employed - meal (restaurant or home), 2. an appetizer, 3. a glass of milk, 4. a glass of juice, 5. a fruit,  6. Dollar store candy bar $1, 7. candy out of a dollar store box of candies 10 cents,  8. Homeless - a comfortable resting place to sit.   In effect, you are the custodian of the physical and energetic wellbeing of the spiritual tradition during the time of interaction.
